Prof. Dr. YAGI Nobuyuki
Professor at the University of Tokyo and Member of the Science Council of Japan
Prof. Dr. YAGI Nobuyuki is a Professor at the University of Tokyo and Member of the Science Council of Japan. His area of study includes socio-economic aspects on small-scale fishery and marketing analysis on food products. He received his MBA from the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA, and his PhD from the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the University of Tokyo, Japan. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the IIFET (International Institute of Fisheries Economics & Trade) from 2014 to 2018 and an expert of the IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) at its group on values from 2014 to 2018. He also served as a member of Scientific Advisory Group (SAG) of the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS) Program of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) from 2019 to 2023. He was elected as the chair of this Group in 2022. He was awarded the Royal Order of Sahametrei, Commander class, from the Royal Government of Cambodia in 2019 for his contributions on rural development studies in Cambodia. He also received a Certificate of an Honorary Citizen from the Government of Jeju Special Self-governing Province, Korea, in 2023.
Dr. Suttinee Limthammahison

Dr. Suttinee Limthammahisorn is the SEAFDEC Secretary-General and Chief of the SEAFDEC/Training Department,starting 1 October 2023. Prior to her appointment at SEAFDEC, Dr. Suttinee was the Director of the Coastal Aquaculture Research and Development Division of the Department of Fisheries (DOF) of Thailand. Preceding that, she served as a director of several divisions of the DOF Thailand with the responsibilities of dealing with issues on fisheries management and combating IUU fishing including overseas fisheries and control of transshipment at sea.Dr. Suttinee obtained her B.S. in Fisheries from Kasetsart University, and subsequently her M.S. in Technology of Environmental Management from Mahidol University in Thailand. She obtained her Ph.D. in Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures from Auburn University, Alabama, USA.

Dr. Rishi Sharma is the Senior Fisheries Officer at the Fisheries and Vision Division in the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), United Nations. Currently, he serves as the Lead Technical Officer (LTO) for the ABNJ Projects and the EAF Nansen Projects, guiding efforts toward sustainable fisheries management and ecosystem-based approaches. He is also the lead developer of FAO’s global stock status metric and the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 14.4 target on sustainable fisheries, alongside a variety of stock assessment and capacity-building initiatives within FAO.
